Young Skill Network (YSN) is a project created to train young people (between 8 – 16 years of age) in Oke Aregba community in vocational skills such as: ➢ Basic Computer skills ➢ Artisan skills ➢ Manufacturing skills ➢Arts and Crafts 100 children will be trained for 3 months and eventually, 30 children will be trained full-time. The skills to be taught include tailoring, hairdressing, painting, catering, soap making, etc. SHORT TERM GOAL- To incorporate skill-based learning into academic-based education of pupils in low income schools at an early stage, so that they can imbibe and nurture the expertise as they grow. LONG TERM GOAL- 30 out of these children will be enrolled for a full-time training with professionals in desired fields. This will be done in order to help the children gain marketable skills they need to improve their life prospects and be equipped to create more jobs in future, instead of waiting on white-collar jobs, thereby decreasing the rate of unemployment.
