Many-a-time truancy is a response to boredom, often experienced by many students to the school curriculum. Many students usually went from home in the morning with a uniform, but they were never in school. This is a very prevalent action among learners from schools of underserved communities such as ours in Ketu Adie-Owe. Truancy has numerous causes that range from environment, parents and child-related issues. The learning environment is a key indicator to whether children enjoy the learning experience or not. To overcome truant habits and absenteeism, and other anti-social behaviors among learners, the need to have sports facilities that support both indoor and outdoor games was conceived. Learning the Sporting Way is an initiative that seeks to promote students' interests and attitudes toward learning and to further ignite their love for sports, and the school climate in general. The mission is to curb absenteeism and also boost the average daily attendance.
